Format
The pentamerone, or, The story of stories : fun for the little ones. Translated from the Neapolitan by John Edward Taylor ; with illustrations by George Cruikshank. A translation of thirty of the fifty stories contained in Lo cunto de li cunti (The tale of tales) first published in Naples in the Neapolitan dialect in five volumes from 1634 to 1636. The Italian edition of 1674 was published under the title Il pentamerone. The translator's preface of this English edition is dated from London, Dec. 21, 1847.
