Homes destroyed

Original Toronto Star caption: Homes destroyed: The dreams of families who had bought new homes in a Markham subdivision are in ashes following what is believed to be the biggest construction fire in Ontario s history. The partially built homes fell like cordwood before the flames that marched through the subdivision. Firefighters battled the blaze with weak water pressure because several valves had been partly closed. Firefighters say 105 homes were destroyed and six or seven damaged.
