Original Toronto Star caption: Desperate race for life: An unidentified elderly patient; overcome by smoke in nursing home fire that killed 21 ill and frail old people in Mississauga last night; is given oxygen as rescuers race her across street to Mississauga Hospital. She had been overcome by smoke. Thirty-five other patients were injured in the blaze. Almost 200 lived at the home.
