Original Toronto Star caption: Carrying funeral wreaths; boys in white uniforms; shown here; led the solemn procession down the main street of the gold mining town of Malartic as the bodies of eight miners were borne to the church for last rites. The miners were the victims of the April 24 mine disaster that took 12 lives. Three were buried elsewhere.
