The end

Original Toronto Star caption: The end: A skeletal steel dome sits silently on the tower of the pre-war Hiroshima industrial exhibition hall-exact centre of the area devastated by a U.S. atom bomb on Aug. 6, 1945. Eight days after the blast Japan surrendered and the war was over. The hall still stands as the city's only official relic of the nuclear destruction.
