Original Toronto Star caption: 'Bird of paradise': De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Ltd. presented its Dash 8 airliner to its first customer yesterday, norOntair, during a ceremony that included Premier William Davis and Northern Affairs Minister Leo Bernier.The Dash 8, which Bernier dubbed the 'bird of paradise', performed a few aerial manoeuvres at the manufacturer's Downsview plant. The 37-passenger airliner can take off and land on short fields a prime requirements for flights to the airline's Northern Ontario destinations.
