Original Toronto Star caption: De Havilland hands over controls for Number 7;000. De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Ltd. rolls out the fifth Dash 8 to be delivered to Horizon Air of Seattle; Wash. The airline ordered 10 Dash 8s plus options for 10 more last year. But the more than 4;000 employees gathered around the Dash 8 at the plant yesterday were also there to celebrate the production of de Havilland's 7;000th aircraft since the 1920s.
