Original Toronto Star caption: Car dashboard clock sparks $10;000 blast; Investigators examine shattered wreck of car owned by Joe Ciampalglia; of Glebeholme Blvd.; which exploded last night when fumes from an acetylene tank in the trunk were apparently ignited by a spark from an electric clock. The trunk lid was found 120 feet away. The blast broke windows in about a dozen houses and brought down Hydro lines; but no one was injured. Damage was estimated at $10;000.
