Original Toronto Star caption: A mid-afternoon blast of undetermined origin left this pile of rubble of what had been the Belsize Dr. home of 87-year-old Edward Mason. Mason is in satisfactory condition in Sunnybrook Hospital after being treated for shock and a cut head. He is thought to have been taking a nap in an upstairs bedroom and the mattress absorbed most of the force of the explosion. Houses on both sides received damage but were left standing. No one else was injured.
