John DeGraauw; 4; of Pickering; touches a screech owl carying held by Mrs. Smith. Her husband; who died last year at 86; carved nearly 800 balsa-wood models; 55 are in the exhibition. He also banded thousands of birds so their migratory habits could be charted.
