Original Toronto Star caption: No crowds: Despite predictions by York borough Mayor Gayle Christie that motorists would jam the $30-million extension of Highway 400 (shown here; left; looking south to Eglinton Ave. W.) commuters apparently have not discovered the route. The 6-kilometre (3 1/2-mile) extension opened Friday. Traffic; pictured at the intersection (centre) of the highway and Tretheway Dr.; has been light so far. Motorists driving south of the 400 can get on the extension by taking the new Black Creek Dr. cut-off.
