Original Toronto Star caption: An 1830s Log Cabin; covered with siding in this century; is inched along at Highway 7 and Islington Ave. on its six-mile journey to Black Creek Village near Jane and Steeles. The house was built by John Brown; an emigrant from Pennsylvania; near what is now Highway 401 and Islington Ave. His great-grandson; A. A. Mackenzie an MPP; was born there in 1885 and lived in it until he died in 1970. Appeared February 7,1973. p55
