Original Toronto Star caption: Young heroine: Donna Hicks; 14; says I just grabbed my shoes and ran when she spotted a boy floundering helplessly in a disused swimming pool near her home in North York. After pulling the boy to safety she had to rescue a woman and a man who had jumped in to help.
