Original Toronto Star caption: A real kettleful of delight; It's maple syrup time in the sugar bush at Bruce's Mills Conservation Area on the Rouge River between Gormley and Stouffville. Youngsters from all over the Metro area are enjoying the treat; and learning about nature besides. Yesterday John Grant showed a group from Burnhamthorpe Public School in Mississauga the old method of reducing sap to syrup by boiling it down in giant iron kettles. The season began March 12 and will go on until April 10 unless it gets too warm for the sap to flow.
