Original Toronto Star caption: Wading in the water and scouring along the banks with rakes and plastic garbage bags; a group 30 York Mills teenagers and housewives does a spring cleaning sweep-up along the filthy; stinking west branch of the Don River on Saturday. The group collected about 200 bags of litter and brushwood for two North York garbage trucks to take away. The 25 teenagers and five adults made their way from York Mills Rd. a mile southeast to Rosedale golf course.
