Original Toronto Star caption: Backlog of mail that has piled up during the various rotating mail strikes in the Metro area is processed by postal workers at the main office in Toronto. District Manager Gordon Cunningham says the backlog is approximately 1;000;000 pieces of first class mail for the city; and another 910;000 pieces for the rest of the Metro area. Postal workers stayed on the job today and will probably do so on Thursday in order to be eligible under contract for holiday pay for Wednesday.
