Original Toronto Star caption: Litter-Strewn Dome of the central cellblock at Kingston Penitentiary is surveyed by regional director of penitentiaries John Moloney in the wake of the riot in which 500 inmates held six guards hostage and tore the 136 year-old prison apart. In the dome; inmates held a 'kangaroo court for undesirables and here 11 prisoners were tied to plywood chairs and beaten while rioters watched from above.
