Inscribed in the print, l.r.: West Day Lithog. 59. Gt. Queen Strt.; b.: A GENTLEMAN TRAVELLING in a DOG CARIOLE IN HUDSON'S BAY with an INDIAN GUIDE. One of a set of six (Accs. JRR 2348-53) of which Library's book collection has four (this being plate [4]) with front wrapper watermarked 1826 bearing title Views in Hudson's Bay... (BR JB fo O.S. 917.127 V37). The figure of Robert Parker Pelly (governor of Assiniboia 1823-5) replaces that of Andrew H. Bulger (governor 1822-3) shown in Rindisbacher's Westc. illus. in A.M. Josephy, The Astist Was a Young Man, pl. XVIII (E.H. Bovay, Le Canada et les Suisses, no. 69; lith. is no. 70).
