Inscribed in the print, l.l.: West Day's Lithogy. 59. Gt. Queen Street; b.: THE GOVERNOR of RED RIVER, HUDSON'S BAY VOYAGING IN A LIGHT CANOE 1824. One of a set of six (Accs. JRR 2348-53) of which Library's book collection has four (but not this one) with front wrapper watermarked 1826 bearing title Views in Hudson's Bay... (BR JB fo O.S. 917.127 V37). The figure of Robert Parker Pelly (governor of Assiniboia 1823-5) replaces that of Andrew Bulger (governor 1822-3) shown in Rindisbacher's Westc. reproduced in A.M. Josephy, The Artist Was a Young Man, plate. XVIII (E.H. Bovay, Le Canada et les Suisses, no. 66) and drawing reproduced in Josephy, plate XXII (Bovay no. 65). Lith. is Bovay no. 67. N
