Avis Everhard chronicles the fall of American democracy in 1912 and her struggles as part of the resistance to the tyrannical oligarchy that arises. Considered to be the earliest modern dystopian fiction, this book has been credited as the inspiration for George Orwell’s 1984. 

Originally published in 1907, this is the 1917 edition.
