With introductory verses by Bernard Barton ; and illustrated with numerous engravings from drawings by George Cruikshank expressly designed for this edition. Copy 1: bound in leather with gilt tooling. Copy 2: bound in quarter leather over pebbled cloth. Copy 3: bound in quarter leather over marbled paper boards. Steel frontispiece in volume 1 engraved by Augustus Fox; steel frontispiece in volume 2 engraved by William Raddon. Vignette wood engravings by John Jackson, Thomas Williams, Samuel Williams, Mary Ann Williams, and Samuel Machlin Slader. The preface, signed J.M., is by the publisher John Major.
