Original publisher's binding: red rib-grain cloth with author and title within a wreath stamped in gilt on upper board; title, author, and decoration in gilt on spine. Osborne copy: navy blue full calf, edges gilt; gilt border on upper and lower covers; ornate gilt on spine with flower motif, raised bands; maroon endpapers. Original cloth covers and spine (pictorial gilt upper cover and spine) bound into the leather binding at the end of volume.
