The editorship of Tabarts's collection of popular stories has often been ascribed to William Godwin, but Mary Jane was the editor, see Marjorie Moon's Benjamin Tabart's Juvenile Library, page 43. The frontispiece, engraved by Charles Knight, is dated Oct. 25, 1808.
