By the author of "The blue silk workbag, " "Harcourt Family, " &c. Publisher's advertisements on 2 p. at end. The hand-coloured frontispiece is engraved by H. Adlard after Henry Brooke. When her mother died in an inn leaving no identification, the five-year-old "Lady Anne" became a public charge. She left the workhouse at the age of twelve and, after a series of adventures in the homes of cruel or indifferent employers, was reunited with her father, the Earl of Malbourne.
