"Testimonies in favour of this work" from the Literary panorama, June, 1815, and the Eclectic review, August, 1815, are given on the verso of the half-title. 
Association copy: The flyleaf bears the signature of the author's brother: Is. Taylor, Stanford Rivers.
The copperplate frontispiece, dated Augt 1, 1817, is re-engraved by Samuel Freeman after William Hilton.
The psychological study of two young ladies ends with the conversion of the vain Elizabeth who gives evidence of "the subjugation of a propensity...almost thought incurable, ...the love of--Display".
