Alfred Dudley, or, The Australian settlers

Authorship attributed to Sarah Porter, the wife of George Richardson Porter, by Frank Algar. Mr. Algar cites a Charles Knight booklist where the title Conversations on arithmetic "by Mrs. G.R. Porter, author of Alfred Dudley" is listed. The four plates each bear two subjects engraved with a decorative border. One plate is dated 1831. The young Alfred Dudley emigrated with his family from England. Although he later became his uncle's heir, he preferred "to renounce worldly honours" and made Australia his permanent home.
