The letter openers/bookmarks were gifted to all Toronto Public Library staff to commemorate the dissolution of the Federation of Toronto and library board in 1998. The letter openers known as "The Daggers" were hand delivered to branch staff by the former City Librarian, Gabriele Lundeen.
