Numerous illustrations are engraved on wood after Clarkson Stanfield, Sir Joseph Noel Paton, Thomas Landseer, Edward Wehnert, Francis William Topham, J. Kenny Meadows, John Franklin and others.
The story of an Irish girl who was born, after her father's death, on Midsummer Eve and was thus the "rightful property" of the fairies.
