Practice runs behind them, Star travel editor Gerry Hall and photographer Fred Ross set out for the real thing—a four-week trip through Ontario by houseboat. Their odyssey takes them from the Star building at One Yonge St. to Sault Ste. Marie at Lake Superior's mouth.

A retired Metro detective-sergeant, but still active athlete, 71-year-old Art Keay jokes with Lieutenant-Governor Pauline McGibbon after she gave him a special achievement award at Harbourfront ceremony yesterday on Senior Citizens Day. It was for his walk from Ottawa to Metro last year.
