Original Toronto Star caption: Full sail; All canvas filled with wind. the Toronto brigantines Pathfinder (right) and Playfair churn through the waters of Toronto Harbour. The brigs competed against the vessel St. Lawrence II from Kingston yesterday in the annual challenge race by the three ships. Events included ship handling; sail reefing; and man-overboard drills. The Toronto brigs spend each summer on a series of cruises on Lake Ontario for teenagers who want to learn about the days before engines.
