Original Toronto Star caption: Watch out; It looked like a near thing but the brigantine Pathfinder (left) was only changing course; not attempting to ram the Playfair. The two vessels; both based in Toronto; and the St. Lawrence II of Kingston; were giving their 14- to 18- year-old crew members a workout. The 13-year-old program of five 12-day cruises teaches the rudiments of sailing but its main aim is to build character.
