Original Toronto Star caption: All this destruction gives a graphic notion of the heavy price the Japanese have paid for the territory they have occupied in the South Pacific. This scene of death resulted from a Jab attempt to land troops on Bali; famous for love and life. It's but one of several defeats inflicted by American naval forces. On the right; the artist repreents a transport sinking. In the centre a cruiser goes to the bottom. Left; destroyers cover landing barges and; in the foreground; a U.S. warship dashes in far a death blow.
