Original Toronto Star caption: A heart pacemaker like this is what keeps Robert Young alive, and he explains the working of it to (from left) his wife Anne, and daughters Stephanie, 10, and Karen, 5. Young, a 45-year-old printer, had the pacemaker installed in 1967 when his heart slowed down. Pacemakers were developed through research paid for in part by the Heart Fund, which will open its annual drive for funds Feb. 1.
