Original Toronto Star caption: This land is ours, a pageant depicting the long pilgrimage of the Mennonites from Europe to western Ontario, contains a cast of present-day Mennonites from Waterloo County and is written and produced by Urie Bender and directed by Loretta Yoder, in foreground. The Amish Mennonites fled from religious persecution in Switzerland in the 16th century through Germany and Holland and came to Canada 150 years ago. There will be at least 6 performances at Avon Theatre in Stratford starting Oct. 7.
