Original Toronto Star caption: This is a recent photo of Major C. F. Hoey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson Hoey, Duncan, B.C., who was awarded the V.C. posthumously. Major Hoey, with the British army, was wounded in February when he led his troops against a Jap-held Burma hill and captured it. Duncan citizens are planning a war memorial in their town in memory of the hero. Major Hoey was 30 and unmarried.
