Original Toronto Star caption: Star photographers stationed at various locations around track; caught the field at four key locations on 1 1/4-mile trip to purse of more than $183;000. The series from the top; shows field going past the grandstand for the firsttime; mid-way down the backstretch; coming around the turn at the head of the stretch and as they charge to the finish. At one time; winner Driving Home (2B) was 17th in field of 18; but Hugo Dittfach on Someolio Man (second finisher) said he expected Driving Home to finish fast.

Religious ceremonies were held in several locations across Metro; including the International Centre in Mississauga; above; where thousands of the faithful bowed in prayer as part of the ancient tradition.
