Original Toronto Star caption: Luge and Ski Runs in Etobicoke's Centennial Park are attracting winter sports enthusiasts by hundreds every weekend. Members of newly formed luge club were out in force this past weekend to test skills on 700-foot run; and there were a few tobogganers as well. Racing luges or sleds have been used to competition since 1955 and can attain speeds up to 80 m.p.h. on racing slopes. Bruce Smith (above) in a flat-out racing position managed to get his luge up to 40 m.p.h. Centennial Park, located on Centennial Park Road, west side, north of Rathburn Road. (43.652486, -79.589400)
