The Toronto Star reported that two Baptist churches operated in Birch Cliff in 1929: Scarboro Baptist Church and Birch Cliff Baptist Church. See "Birch Cliff: Flourishing conditions revealed in churches," Toronto Star, 18 January 1929: 24.  However, the 1929 Toronto city directory reported only one Baptist church in Scarborough: Birch Cliff Baptist Church.  Scarborough Baptist Church has operated in Birch Cliff on Kingston Road, southwest corner of Lakeside Avenue for many years.
