Original Toronto Star caption: High density housing such as this apartment at the Old Mill station in Etobicoke could be expanded at each of the 47 subway stations in Metro; claims Karl Mallette; chairman of the Toronto Transit Commission. Such housing units within a radius of 2;000 feet of most of the stations would put people where public transit already exists; cutting down the number of people who drive to their jobs in the centre of Toronto each day and cutting down drastically on the amount of gasoline used to get them there.
