Original Toronto Star caption: A giant laker hitches a ride into berth. The lake freighter Gordon C. Leitch is towed through the slip into the turning basin of Toronto Harbor and its winter berth at Pier 35; at the foot of Cherry St. The tug G. W. Rogers was at the bow of the freighter and the R. C. L. No. 1 at stern to handle the 664-foot ship; which is more than twice as long as a football field. The Gordon C. Leitch which is owned by the Upper Lakes Shipping Co.; had just loaded 18;225 tons of grain from Thunder Bay at Maple Leaf Mills.
