Original Toronto Star caption: Proposed hotel buildings looked over by civic property committee. Property committee of the city council, under Ald. Beamish, accompanied by Building Commissioner Gillies and Fire Chief Sinclair, looked over these buildings to-day to judge at first hand their suitability and safety as beverage-room sites. In each case approval was sought for alternations necessary to turn the properties --all of brick, three-storeys in height -- into standard hotels. (1) The building at 862 Danforth Ave., owned by the wife of Robert Allen, M.P.P., and formerly occupied by a drug store and Mr. Allen's real estate office. [Incomplete]
