Original Toronto Star caption: 48th Highlanders set out for new home. For the last time the 48th Highlanders of Canada march out of Old Fort York Armories -- their temporary home for three years -- and set out to the swirl of bagpipes for their new headquarters in Moss Park Armories at Jarvis and Dundas Sts. The 48th; one of two or three regiments in Canada that retain their original name; celebrates its 75th anniversary this summer. Their regimental flag carries 49 battle honors; more than any other regiment in the country.
