Original Toronto Star caption: 75 feet long but TTC still couldn't find it. Toronto Transit Commission officials started phoning all over town yesterday when the first of 164 new cars for Toronto's east-west subway didn't arrive at the Davisville subway yards for a 10 a.m. inspection. A Star photographer found it aboard this CPR flatcar in the Parkdale railway yards; tended by Bruce Smith; The CPR explained the delay by saying it had to get permission to use a CNR line into Davisville. The 75-foot aluminum car finally arrived four hours late.
