Original Toronto Star caption: Metro zoo residents encounter a canadian winter. For most of the animals at Metro's new zoo in Scarborough; this week's snowfall was their first experience with Canadian winter. Most of them waited for their keepers to clear away snow before they would venture out from their pens and cages. The Indian and African elephants took cold and snow in stride and went foraging for what vegetation was still left. The Siberian tiger cubs; just a few months old; snuggle close to their mother whenever she leaves the pen.
