Original Toronto Star caption: Two blocks from the place where Constable Harry Burridge was shot, a car crashed into a lamp post at Midland Ave. and Eglinton Ave. E. The driver of the car, who was alone, had been shot in the head and was taken to Scarborough General Hospital. Constable Syd Brown, president of Metro's 4,000-member police association, wants an immediate ban on selling any kind of gun to prevent such shootings.
