Original Toronto Star caption: In the hot seat: J.L.A. Colhoun, president of the Trust Companies Association of Canada, is leading the industry's battle for new legislation to let trust firms compete for more consumer dollars. Colhoun, who also holds the chairman's seat at National Trust, would like to see his industry allowed more flexibility in its choice of investments and services. If he's successful, he could help change the balance of power between trust firms and banks.
