Bound in brown morrocco-grain cloth, blocked in gold and black, all edges gilt. Coloured pictorial label pasted on front cover. Original edition 1866. The railroad and farm-yard alphabets illustrated by Walter Crane, his first work in the Routledge picture book series. Two other alphabets illustrated by someone other than Crane. All printed in color by Edmund Evans. Undated. Date from BLC.
