Original Toronto Star caption: Peter Hill, 33, graduated with honors from the Ontario College of Art in 1975. Since then, this Toronto-born artist has become known for his rigorously experimental paintings that project from the wall like four-sided pyramids, gargoyles or narrow vertical structures. Hill's serious yet amusing projectiles?made of layers of oil, wax and varnish on plywood?are available at Ydessa Gallery, 144 Front St. W. for $800 to $1,000. Also priced at $800 are some oil-stick or oil-pastel drawings. While Hill's works are difficult and demand much from the viewer, they are at the leading edge of what is happening.
