A cement canoe, manufactured as a class project by University of Toronto civil engineering studetns, was launched today by U of T professors John Timusk (standing) and Ken Selby. Their students had to miss the trial run because they were writing exams. The canoe took only six hours to make, and was just finished last night. It weighs 120 pounds. It was launched in Toronto Harbor near National Yacht Club.
