Original Toronto Star caption: Sounds of Henry Mancini. The hills surrounding the Forum at Ontario Place were alive with the sounds of Henry Mancini last night, and over 12,000 fans of middle-of-the-road music drank it in on a balmy summer's eve by the lake. Mancini (right), in his debut as guest conductor, took the Toronto Symphony through a program of music from the movies, sprinkled with many of his own compositions, from Moon River to the theme from The Pink Panther. Tomorrow's concert at 8.30 p.m. will have James De Preist as guest conductor, with Paul Stewart at the piano.
